Up for your consideration is this Antique 19th Century Burmese Wooden Scuplture of a Mandalay Buddha. The statue is crafted from wood and covered in gold leaf, a common technique in Burmese Buddhist Art. The face is serene, with inlaid eyes, with painted black puples. The statue sits on a tiered base with red painted bottom layer. The statue is in the "calling the earth to witness" pose, where the right hand gestures towards the earth. It originates from Burma (now Myanmar), specifically the Mandalay period of the 19th Century. This piece measures approx. 16.5" tall, 13.5" wide and 9.5" deep. This piece is in Good Condition with some signs of wear to the paint but no known cracks. Please look at the photos and ask any questions before purchasing. This exquisite sculpture embodies history and artistry, aligning perfectly with BNG TREASURES' tradition of offering historical, rare, and one-of-a-kind treasures.
